Tennessee at Jacksonville: Titans by 3. Tennessee might not be the team they were last year, but the Jags are one of the worst in the league. Yeah, they won this week behind a career game from Jones-Drew, but Garrard is a dime-a-dozen QB, and Holt isn’t exactly lighting it up. The defense is full of holes, and the team just isn’t very well coached. The Titans are 0-3, but are bound to turn it around at some point. Nothing better than a game against the Jags to get things going for them. Kerry Collins has always been a bit of a punch line, even during his 4,000-yard season, but the guy is underrated. He may be closer to the end of his career these days than the beginning, but he can still get the job done. He just needs a few seconds to throw the ball. If the offensive line can get their act together, the Titans should cover this one nicely.

Rams at Niners: Niners by 10. Yeah, not exactly a battle of the elites in this one, but an interesting line drew me to preview it. Keep in mind that although Gore might play, he’s still going to be banged up. The Rams defense is poor, but they can still stack against the pass and cut off Shaun Hill as much as possible. Hill is a game manager, not a game changer, so that strategy just might be enough to pull the Rams in close. I’m going out on a limb and saying in an upset, the Rams cover, but still fall on the road.

Giants at Chiefs: Does anyone smell a Manning/Manning Super Bowl? Baltimore won’t agree, but it could happen. Eli looks every bit as good as Peyton this year, and the Giants defense can line up against anyone in either conference. The Chiefs, however, are a mess. Larry Johnson is totally ineffective – and what’s his excuse? He can’t run or score when healthy, or with two different QB’s behind the ball. No Tony Gonzalez certainly makes things tougher than expected. KC appears to be sticking with him, though, which doesn’t bode well for the offense. Arrowhead is not welcoming to visitors, but that energy only goes so far as the team’s performance, and if Eli can figure a way to quiet them early, it’ll be a blood bath. Expect the Giants to cover.
