Well, that Oklahoma State/Baylor line was a no-brainer. I’m really surprised it was that low going into the matchup, and of course, as predicted, OSU destroyed them and covered nicely. Hope you took my advice on that one. The Cowboys are on the scene now, ranked No. 15 in the nation, adding some much-needed respect to the Big 12 conference, who still has Texas to knock people around, but is decidedly less imposing without Bradford at the helm of Oklahoma. To the Sooners credit, they did still handle KU last week. And that put my record at 1-1 for the week, and 11-7 on the season so far.
Let’s preview Georgia at Florida for the hell of it. I remember when I thought this was going to be a matchup of ranked titans, but…not so much. Which would explain the 15-point line Florida currently enjoys. Although it looks like Tebow is still Tebow post-injury, I’m actually going back and forth on this one. The Gators have not blown anyone out since Week 4. However, with them cruising at home, I’ll take a stab at it and say they’re going to cover. Georgia is only 2-2 on the road, and is actually being outscored by its opponents by a point. And they’re only going to lose to UF by 2 touchdowns on the road? Not likely.
Another great Halloween matchup is Texas at Oklahoma State. No. 3 Texas will have their hands full against a very formidable conference opponent. And I have to say, the odds makers have set a tough line of 9 points to Texas here. Texas has faced one ranked opponent all season (Oklahoma) and beat them on the road by just a field goal. But can McCoy be stopped at this point? It’s tough to bet against them, even if it is the safe play. I say they click on all cylinders this weekend and trick or treat themselves to a victory that covers.
