There are many ways to bet on a football game. To name a few types of bets, there are Asian Handicap betting, Fixed Odds betting, Spread betting, and accumulators.
Today, there are so many different types of bets available that some are just too complicated. The best type of bet is a simple straight forward bet. It is always best to stick to simplicity.
Our favorite type of bet is Asian Handicap Betting on single games. Fixed Odds Betting is also straight forward but the payout is normally quite poor. We prefer Asian Handicap Bets because the payout offered for many games are normally close to 1.00. A higher payout means that we do not need to maintain a high winning percentage to be profitable.
One distinct advantage that we, as punters, have over the bookies is we do NOT have to bet on every game that is offered. The bookies have not much choice but to offer and to accept bets on every game that is available. As punters, we have the luxury of choosing games that we feel comfortable and confident of winning. Most punters give this crucial advantage away by betting on too many games. Bet only on games when there is a compelling reason. Understand why you are betting on the match before you place any hard earned money on the line.
On the other hand, some punters make the mistake on betting on too few games. Statistics will only count when there is a large enough sample which means you need to have a large enough numbers of games. Moreover, these punters will normally over commit on these bets because they only have 2 to 3 bets per week.
A reasonable number to work with is to bet on 10 to 20 games per week. While it may sound like too many games, it is actually not. This is definitely not a quota that we set for ourselves every week. What is more important is we only bet on games that matches our selection criteria.
Our betting strategy is very simple. Here is what we do everyday:
- We scan the "market" on all available games that we feel that we have a good probability of winning. We normally like to focus on Home Advantage as the home team will have a slightly higher chance of winning.
- With a set selection criteria that we have used over the years of betting, we continue to shortlist the number of games that exceeds these stringent criteria that we have.
- With a short list of about 20 potential matches across various leagues, we will begin to analyze each team (and news) in great detail.
- Now that we have studied these games, we will further streamline our selections. We will normally cut down the potential games to less than 10 potential bets. We will only place bets on games that we know we have a success ratio of more than 70%.
- With not more than 10 games to bet on, we will be monitoring odds movement to decide on the games that will finally interest us.
Over the years, our selection process has proven to be extremely successful providing us a consistent win ratio of 60% to 70%. With a payout ratio of close to 1, all we really need to be profitable is to maintain a win ratio of over 50%.
There is no way that can win every game as losing is part of this business. If you cannot take losses, then you should not be betting. Over a large sample of games, our analysis have shown that statistics will eventually be on our side.
As an example:
If we bet on 100 games per month with a 70% win ratio, we will have a net profit of 40 games.
If we place a small wager of $20 per match, our expected profit would be at $800 per month. Even with a win ratio of 60%, a profit of $400 per month can be achieved.
Our favorite bets are Asian Handicap where we can select payouts that are close to 1:1 ratio. We do bet on Fixed Odds only when the payout justifies the risk.
Unlike other sites, we refuse to charge an exorbitant subscription price. If we charge a high subscription price, you have to naturally be betting heavy on each match to cover the subscription fee. We do NOT recommend such aggressive betting behavior. Based on experience, that will surely be the road to failure.
